Because we have you in our records as a 'preferred customer,' we are entering you into a 1,000,000 sweepstakes which will be held at the end of the summer. Also, we will be sending you a free gift. That gift is either a men's or women's watch with a real quartz diamond inside of it. Now for your gift would you like that sent to you in the men's or women's style?" "Um.. probably the women's.." "Alright. And also, as a preferred user, we allow you to try out any two magazines of your choice for an entire year for free." *this whole time I'm thinking this is some sort of scam with strings attached* "Well. I'm actually going out of the country for a year. So I'm not sure I'll be needing the magazines. Is that going to be a problem?" "Oh.. -stutters- ..ok .. um... so where are you going?" "Florence, Italy." "Oh. Cool. With school or something?" "Yeah, actually I go to Pepp. Univ. and I'm going with a study abroad program that they do." "Oh. Alright.. well.. have a great trip. I'll enter you into that sweepstakes for you." "Oh ok. And they're not going to sell that information to any third parties are they?" "Oh no. You don't have to worry about that." "Alright. Well thanks. Bye.." ---- I hung up, thinking that I was pretty slick.. somehow escaping the rest of his schpele.. and then I thought about it... 2 magazines for an entire year for free?? That's a pretty good deal. Even if I weren't going to be reading them.. I'm sure some family members would've liked that. Hm. But it might've been a scam anyway.
