What the.. ?

probably something here I should probably try to understand to some 'deeper' extent (or something very simple here which could have been said in many fewer words - even though I'm not one to speak regarding making things concise).. but yeah.. thinking at the moment.. analyzing this all..it's just not going to happen.

[first IM...] Paul (9:44:19 PM): ugh dude another debate on rap where people turn my own arguements against me.
Paul (9:45:09 PM): Basically my point is that it's usually so much like this, 30 seconds of a clip that wears out and gets old literaly the first time its played through and repeats ENDLESSLY until the song is over
Paul (9:45:14 PM): so what people say is that rock does that too.
Paul (9:45:19 PM): Listen to me on this.
Paul (9:45:48 PM): that might be true but rock actually relies on the guitar rather than bass, which is an instrument that doesn't require effort to hear the difference between the note and the note F.
Paul (9:46:00 PM): and You can say as much as you want that there are some artist that don't rely VERY heavily on bass.
Paul (9:46:02 PM): But you know what?
Paul (9:46:13 PM): Most of them are dead, not producing anymore, or the people that are mocked.
Paul (9:46:16 PM): And not considerd rap.
Paul (9:46:26 PM): Eminem, the beastie boys and some of will smiths older stuff
Paul (9:46:34 PM): kris kross too.
Paul (9:46:45 PM): So anyways.
Lin (9:46:55 PM): ha.. I have nooo idea what you're talking about
Paul (9:46:58 PM): as much as we do the same thing we actually do it in a way that qualifies as music.
Lin (9:47:00 PM): but yeah.. any-way :P
Paul (9:47:22 PM): it's the digital loop concept
Paul (9:47:39 PM): where basically its the same 30 seconds of music, and then it repeats itself at the end of that 30 seconds
Paul (9:47:41 PM): until the song is over.
Paul (9:48:40 PM): i'm saying a guitar has infinately more ability to innovate than bass and the truth is all the people that are saying Na-uh! there are people that don't use bass as their main instruments LISTEN to the bass hogging idiot music and enjoy it.
Paul (9:49:12 PM): And if there ARE people that don't it's pretty assumable that for whatever reason, people don't like them or they aren't producing anymore
Paul (9:49:27 PM): most true rappers will tell you eminem is fake.
Paul (9:49:47 PM): Why is that? because he gives a shit about the way his music sounds?
Paul (9:49:57 PM): and he goes beyond just BOOM BOOM BOOM
Paul (9:50:00 PM): for 4 minutes
Paul (9:50:46 PM): you CAN't honestly expect to make elaborate music when you rely on an instrument where it takes straining effort to tell the difference between the note a and the note f.
Paul (9:51:27 PM): basically its the same fucking SONG over and over.
Paul (9:51:41 PM): Some people sing about more emotional things, and some people are more angry.
Paul (9:51:42 PM): but the tune
Paul (9:51:44 PM): is the same.
Paul (9:52:03 PM): Still have you lost?
Paul (9:52:32 PM): Pick up a bass dude and play the note f vs the note a. It's very hard to hear the difference even though they're very far apart. Pick up a guitar and you won't have any trouble.
Paul (9:53:09 PM): No matter what you play on a bass you have to be paying attention to notice. At least a guitar allows innovation.
Paul (9:56:08 PM): and you can hear my complaints all you want, and I know your right, some people rise above this as with anything.

Paul (9:56:17 PM): but If that's true than why is it that all you see selling and being played on mtv are the people that do EVERYTHING i complain about
Paul (9:58:13 PM): it's becoming irritating because mtv constantly has to make new channels because of the rocker/rapper conflict thats risen and everytime they make a rocker station eventually they allow more and more hip hop to be played on it until they have to drive us out to a new station.
Paul (9:58:26 PM): MTV.
Paul (9:58:27 PM): MTV2.
Paul (9:58:30 PM): MTVX.
Paul (9:58:38 PM): WHat's next?
Lin (9:58:56 PM): um. I'll let you know when I read it. :)
Lin (9:58:58 PM): bbial [be back in a little]
Paul (9:59:04 PM): ugh...
. . . babbled Lin
