This is not 'surreal' in the slightest

Lin(9:34:52 PM): did you see Michael moore?
Lin(9:34:54 PM): that was intense
Lin(9:35:01 PM): speaking out against the war on stage..
Lin(9:35:08 PM): and everyone in the audience started booing him..
Lin(9:35:11 PM): it was crazy
Mother (9:36:14 PM): not everyone was booing. Some were glad
Lin(9:36:34 PM): yeah I know.. I just felt there was a lot of tension
Mother (9:36:43 PM): The whole world is going nuts. Even here in (my hometown).
Mother (9:37:04 PM): (my sister) and (her boyfriend) stopped on the street to ask a group of women dressed in black what in the heck they were doing.
Mother (9:37:22 PM): They had all black on and veils covering their faces, and were not allowed to speak.
Mother (9:37:59 PM): They handed them a flyer that said they were protesting the suffering of women in the world, and they are doing this on the street corner every Saturday now!
Lin(9:38:25 PM): wow.
Mother (9:39:01 PM): And three people were arrested on Saturday for marching downtown and not leaving private property during their protest
Mother (9:39:13 PM): But about 200 were marching total
Lin(9:39:17 PM): heh.. that's ridiculous.. how can they be arrested for free speech?
Mother (9:39:27 PM): private property!
Lin(9:39:34 PM): oh I see
Lin(9:39:39 PM): why were they on private property?
Mother (9:39:53 PM): some downtown business they were standing on
Mother (9:40:40 PM): my friend (MC), her daughter graduated from Oregon State, and she is in Greenpeace right now
Mother (9:40:56 PM): and has been arrested 3 times for chaining herself to the inside of tanks and stuff!
Lin(9:42:08 PM): crazy
Mother (9:42:46 PM): I think the war is really going to intensify this week
Lin(9:43:00 PM): yeah, well already soldiers are dying
Mother (9:43:13 PM): Did you hear that the Phoenix Palo Verde nuclear power plant (near my home) is the possible target of a major terrorist attack?
Lin(9:43:14 PM): and I think this is only going to make the tension higher among the people who are against the war
Mother (9:43:33 PM): They haven't even entered Bagdad yet
Lin(9:43:34 PM): it doesn't surprise me.. I'm sure ANY nuclear power plant is at risk
Mother (9:43:45 PM): It's the biggest one in the nation.
Mother (9:43:56 PM): The national guard are surrounding it right now

"My experience making this film made me very aware of the sadness and the dehumanization of people in times of war, and the repercussions of war. And whether you believe in God or Allah, may he watch over you, and let's pray for a peaceful and swift resolution," Brody said, fighting back tears and drawing a standing ovation.
