And the winner is...

(predictions seconds before the announcement based upon watching the preview.. and only the categories I see.. since I'm in-and-out watching this)

Animation: Two Towers

Winner: Correct. Yeeep.

Art direction: Two Towers

Winner: Nope. Good 'ol Chicago.

WHAT?? DID I MISS SOMETHING? I just heard.. "And the oscar goes to: Chris Cooper in Adaptation".. after a performance of Chicago on stage.. what the hell?.. lol.. uh... anyway....

oh.. ha.. apparently I did miss a pretty large category when I went to start my laundry. Argh. I thought they didn't announce the MAIN categories until much later. Oh well. I suppose one of my predictions (other journal) was correct then.

Jennifer Gar(d?)ner looks gorgeous tonight..

Best animated short film: ... uuuh... my guess? Chubb chub

Winner: ha.. correct.. even though I have *no* idea about this film.. just picked according to what looked the most.. 'vibrant'

Short films: inja
Winner: This Charming Man

Achievement in costume design: I don't think I even need to see the other nominations.. Chicago
Winner: Chicago..

Best supporting Actress: Kathrine Zeta-Jones
Winner: hehe. "Katherine." (er.. I guess the correct spelling is "Catherine")

Best original score: catch me if you can...
Winner: Fridaaaa

yay Julie Andrews!!

Achievement in sound: Chicago
Winner: yep. Chicago

Achievement in sound editing: Minority Report?.. That would be interesting.
Winner: Nope. Two Towers.

Documentary Feature: Spellbound (por Bowling For COlumbine)
Winner: haha.. yeah.. Bowling for Columbine (note how I changed my mind at the last minute frantically typing it... typos-all-over-the-place)

wow... um... that was just... insanely intense... wow... that's going to be ALL OVER the media... ooooh my.

haha.. oh Lord.. I can't BELIEVE he (Michael Moore) just said that!!! Ooooh Lord... wow. Good for him.. for standing up for what he believes in.. good for him... for standing up and taking his moment of fame for the purpose he wanted... and for doing it in such an area where he damn-well-probably-knew he would be criticized by the audience.. the audience most-definitely-Republicans (the majority at least).. who most-definitely probably support Bush.. because they most-definitely have their own agenda of rich.. and..

hm...

heh.. I can't believe the animosity at the moment.. OMG... I can't believe he just made fun of Michael Moore like that ..this (*^#*(& host... I can't even remember his name at the moment.. oh.. haha.. my mind is racing.. I'm out..

Film Editing: Two Towers
Winner: ugh.. Chicago.. oh well.. figures.

Best Actor: Michael Caine... should win..
Winner: Wow.. my first instinct was correct - Mr. Brody!.. haha.. and they alwaaaays tell you to stick by your first instincts

haha.. awww.. I'm so glad he won. :)

so glad he won.

Wow.. I'm going to have to see this film.. too bad Der and I decided not to at the last moment when he was visiting, but yeah, I'm definitely going to see this one..

Best original song: Frida.. but I bet Gangs of New York for political reasons.. MAYBE Chicago ... maybe 8 Mile.. haha.. I don't know about this one
Winner: Yay. Eminem. (for 8 Mile)

Best Actress - Renee Zellwegger (sp?)
Winner - wow. Theeere's an 'upset.' Who would've thought Nicole Kidman? Good for her.

Despite my disagreement with this war, I must say.. I am proud of the Country I live in.. mhm. . and the extent of the due recognition the "American idols" are addressing this during the awards as well..

Screenplay: Chicago
Winner - nooope.. Ron Howard - The Pianist

Original Screenplay: My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Winner: Talk to her .. hehe.. never heard of it

Achievement in Directing: thinking The Pianist.. judging on recent winners.. but maybe Chicago
Winner: yep.. The Pianist

..and.. general note.. Harrison Ford.. I think something has to be wrong with him.. or something.. maybe depression... he seems abnormally-angry/depressed.. but I don't know.. maybe it's just 'age'? He was upset with one of my suitemates though, when she asked for his autograph down at the local ice cream place around our campus... but.. I suppose any 'famous' person would be upset if people came up to them constantly in the area they live and hope to get away from the 'fame' of it all. *shrug*

Best Picture: almost definitely The Pianist.. after everything else tonight..
Winner: Chicago! .. hehe.. reminder that I should stick by my original instincts/predictions

The Ennnnd.
