Monday, December 09, 2002 Time is running out.. What are the disadvantages of working at the extreme last minute? Well, one being that you feel like your back might finally break from every bone being too tight in it. My finals are approaching quickly, and every hour seems to matter up until now and 12 noon on thursday. I am now beginning to see exactly where every hour is going to be distributed. Working at the last possible minute at least lets me see things in a concise perspective, and I like that. Relaxing-somewhat over 5-7 weeks, and then working at an extremely intense level over a couple of days, seems to be my chosen stategy to approaching everything I have to finish by a particular deadline. Instead of knowing everything that I must do (below), my mind can now think directly how everything will be completed in particular time frames. Today (Monday): Go to bed around at 5:30 a.m. .. wake at around 11 a..m.-12 noon (only does sleep become crucial now to make the most of every hour spent cramming.. otherwise in life, sleep can wait :) ) Take a fast shower (to wake up).. don't even bother getting ready for 'monday' because there should be no incentive to go outside today... dress in comfortable clothes 12:30 p.m. Complete all of the religion material I didn't finish - nevermind taking my time at it anymore.. getting a general idea of what is left is better if time gets messed-up somewhere along things (and it shouldn't) 2:30 p.m. (to 3:30 p.m... 3:30 being the latest) Start on final history paper. Research should have been done between 4-5:30 a.m. on Sunday night (right now) Complete last-minute research.. decide on a good thesis.. call the teacher or maybe e-mail and argue about his grading system a little more (kidding).. maybe bring that up if I have the chance to ask him if my thesis sounds ok... actually... nevermind.. there is no way I would ever call him on monday asking if my thesis is ok (showing that I haven't even started the paper... he would probably automatically want to give me a B or lower with this in the back of his mind later..) 2:30-3:30 p.m. - .. probably trying to finish my history paper up until 10 p.m. 10 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. - reviewing and perfecting the last 9 weeks of religion in my head... Lord how I hate the Old Testament. I just do... now. 2:30-3:30 a.m. Look over history paper?... Start reviewing for speech? .. Read some of the books which are due on thurs?.. probably not :) ..... Now push all of the time back by an hour or two.. or three.. for complications/breaks/mere laziness/misestimations of time... Tuesday Sleep from 3:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Wake, Get ready... 1 p.m. Send-off Hisory paper in e-mail (due by 5 p.m... woo .. deadline met) 1 - 3 p.m. renew memory on religion concepts.. 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Go get something to eat from the food area 4:30 p.m... be in my seat for the final 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Testing 7 - 9 p.m. Go get something to eat from the food area 9 p.m. back at dorm ... start studying for lib. Final... 9 - 1 a.m. Studying 2:00 a.m. Sleep Wednesday 8 - 9 a.m. Get ready 9 - 10 a.m. Eat something while refreshing my mind on material 10:30 a.m. Testing 12 p.m. Eating.. thinking of the test.. 1 p.m. Nothing on my mind.... maybe I'm sleeping 4 p.m. Wake?... Start studying for speech final tomorrow 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Studying Sleep?... uh... probably not at 11.. but maybe Thursday Wake at 8 a.m. Start refreshing my mind up until 10:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. Testing ----- freedom..... time to go home .... 4 p.m. Welcome to my finals week. . . . babbled Lin |
