I should be fired

for "accidentally" forgetting that I had work on Thursday. I honestly did not know that I had work on Thursdays, though I have been working for the past 2 weeks. I am usually a scatter-brain like that (which is why web design - working on my own hours - is a good job for me), but I seriously do not - or vaaaaaguely - remember that I work on those days.

Boss on the phone: "hi.. so do you still work for me or what?"
Me: "uhhh..."
Boss on the phone: "why didn't you show up to work on Thursday??"
Me: "oh!..."
Boss on the phone: "here.. let me remind you! Mon., Wed., and THURSDAY!"
Me: "haha... um.. I swear I was there..."
Boss on the phone: "no you weren't!"
Me: "YES.. I was.."
Boss on the phone: "What?? You weren't.."
Me: "look.. I have to go.. I have PE at 6!"
---more chat that I can't remember..--
Boss on the phone: "well you better go... it's 6:05.."
Me: "no, it's not.. my clock says it's 5:55.."
Boss on the phone: "ahhh!.."
Me: "see.. I was there.. it's just that my clock is ahead of time and you were probably there after I had already arrived and left.. gotta run!"

Haha. My 'boss' cracks me up. He tries to act all authoritative and he's only a sophomore or junior (not sure?) with no clue about some things. What was it he told me?.. oh.. that I have a very sarcastic cynical humor? Hehe... it's fun turning the authority around on him :P I work in the sports department, and my job is honestly extremely boring, but it's cool to have him around because I love teasing him. Either way, tonight he told me: "I wasn't going to add on the hours you didn't work, but I guess I will now.." .... I didn't question why he suddenly was going to give me the money for the day I missed? - If I don't question why then the statement can't be reversed. :) Heh, although one of the other workers standing next to us while we were talking said: "oh so we can miss work and still get paid?".... luckily the conversation was diverted and her question became one of a rhetorical nature.

Ok.. so maybe that was my one 'sick day' or something? Either way I am going to try to be more responsible - no more missing of work for me.
