Friday, July 05, 2002 my "new best friend" thinks I'm crazy. I had mentioned he was going to be my new 2-week-best-friend-at-my-work, but, I'm kind of thinking that idea has been nixed. ha. He came down the stairs today, ready to leave as usual, said goodbye.. then he kind of gave me this funny look because - again - I probably had this entranced-type-vision on my computer.. though this time he came back around to my desk area to see what I was doing. Once-again.. he happened to come by at the exact time I had just decided to start on web design work, and I, uh, honestly haven't been working on this website at any other time than those 10 minutes he comes around - this isn't a planned thing either. It's probably a good thing he comes around during that time.. at least I don't look like a complete slacker who sits here doing nothing all day (which is what I really do). But.. he came around to see my laptop, and what do I have on the screen?..This.. ... you know how you test a food before actually eating the entire thing?.. (if it's something new).. well I do the same with Java.. I look at it.. play with it a little bit.. see if I like the "fit" of the code... how would it work on the actual site I'm designing.. etc... anyway... that stupid code... he comes around and I'm apparently having great fun seeing a page go up and down by putting my cursor over those arrow buttons on the right side of the page. ::laughs slightly:: I honestly think that he must think that I must do this type of stuff all day. Watching a website page go up and down.. up and down... up and down. I didn't know what to say.. I mean.. it felt like getting caught wearing only my under-wear... or.. I'm just too self-conscious of this minor fact: I am such a (computer) nerd. ;) but nerds are cool.. right... ? psh. :P Anyway. He walked away, not really knowing what to say either.. I sputtered.. "uh.. java code.. just testing some stuff.." .. I can't even remember what he said in reply. lol. . . . babbled Lin |
