Friday, July 13, 2001 *yawn* my piano lesson today went good actually.. surprisingly. I have another tomorrow, and 2 more extra long ones after that (to make up for the ones I'll be misisng when I'm gone for about a month on a trip to the east) Wow.. just one more week before I leave! :/ .. I'm kind of getting nervous about this "leadership conference" I'll be going to in California before I leave to New York.. I'm actually really getting nervous. I have no clue who I'll be seeing there - maybe someone I've met at many previous select conferences? - and I have to fly alone, arrive alone.. don't know how I'm going to get to the place I need to be? (I guess I'm supposed to find a shuttle or something??? In the airport??? California's airport???) haha..so..trying not to panick or anything.. as you can see :) It should be interesting.. 30 high school students from all over the U.S. get selected to go to this thing, and this one is for "HOBY" (Hugh O' Brian Youth Leadership) only.. and getting selected for HOBY is tough as it is (1 sophomore, each yr. from each high school, is selected to go) .. I got selected for that, and suddenly there's lots of opporunities for other things - such as this conference, only ALL of HOBY students (now juniors) in the U.S. were elegible for selection. ugh ... I just hope I'm not out-of-place there.. what if they're all geniuses and have done so many wonderful things and then there's ME.. lost as ever.. lol.. I don't know.. we'll see. tonight was heck!..heh.. and it's a long story.. too long to explain.. just picture my washing machine overflowing, and then picture me getting ALL the water out of that washing machine by a little sucker-tuber-thing, and then me attempting to rinse my laundry in the bathtub area.. and then me accidently turning on the running water in the bathtub and suddenly I'm taking a shower in my clothes, and then my neighbor walks in to ask if he can borrow a cd.. and then he looks at me crazy like "what the h*** are you doing???" .. and then I look at him very angry and say "DOES NOW LOOK LIKE A GOOD TIME TO ASK IF YOU CAN BORROW A CD????" .... lol.. looking back on it.. it's funny.. but it DEFINITELY WAS NOT at the time. . . . babbled Lin |
